{"id":128,"date":"2012-01-03T09:41:56","date_gmt":"2012-01-03T14:41:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/steinvox.com\/?p=128"},"modified":"2012-04-17T15:25:39","modified_gmt":"2012-04-17T20:25:39","slug":"want-to-network-or-just-kidding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/steinvox.com\/blog\/want-to-network-or-just-kidding\/","title":{"rendered":"Want to Network? &#8230; Or Just Kidding?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Is it easy for others to network with you and provide opportunity to you?\u00a0 When you ask for specific value in inquiries, are you removing barriers to accelerate the value someone can offer you?<\/p>\n<p>So I see that someone from my professional career has been looking at my LinkedIn profile a few times in the past few months\u2026, and I see at the bottom of Susan\u2019s profile that \u201cSusan\u201d (not their real name) wants to be contacted for a number of reasons she has configured in her profile (a screen capture we all have seen follows\u2026).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/steinvox.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/image.png\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/steinvox.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/image_thumb.png?resize=483%2C106\" alt=\"image\" width=\"483\" height=\"106\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And\u00a0 thinking I\u2019d take the lead and reach out, I started to search for Susan\u2019s contact info.\u00a0 It\u2019s been a number of years, but I\u2019m pretty good with keeping my contact\u2019s info up to date \u2013 but this time, I don\u2019t have it.\u00a0 (I\u2019ve now spent 10 minutes looking in 3 places!)<\/p>\n<h3>Network Reality<\/h3>\n<p>In reality, Susan is someone that I\u2019d like to approach with a \u201cbusiness deal\u201d that she might find valuable \u2013 her profile shows \u201c<em>Contact Susan for: business deals\u2026<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>OK, the point.\u00a0 If you want to network, then make it easy for others to network with you.
